The house was built in 1874, predating the chartered town of Kuttawa by a full year. Today, its charm and elegance have been enhanced by retaining its original appearance while adding amenities essential to today's Bed & Breakfast visitors. It remains at its original site, nestled in the center of the old town.
Kuttawa is a Shawnee Indian word that means, "beautiful". It is an apt description of this scenic section of Kentucky--the setting that is the Silver Cliff Inn Bed and Breakfast.
About the Owners
Della and Deanna have been friends since 1980. We purchased the Silver Cliff Inn in June, 2008 and spent two months updating it with new flooring, paint, and decking. We continue to improve the house and landscaping. Deanna retired in 2010 and lives at the B&B 8 months out of the year. She spends the other four months in south Texas avoiding winter. Della continues to work but is at home at the B&B every weekend. We look forward to sharing our home with you and invite any suggestions for improvement. Please join us for a relaxing weekend or a fun-filled vacation.
